Principal's Message
The time has come for parents and students to sit down, discuss, and select courses for the 2013 - 2014 school year. In order to assist you, we have put together and posted on our school website the Course Selection Handbook. As you review the handbook, you will see that we have attempted to provide a variety of programs in order to meet the multitude of our students’ interests, learning styles, and needs.
We hope this handbook assists our students and parents to select the courses leading to successful learning on the pathway to your child’s desired destination, whether that is an apprenticeship, employment, or post-secondary education. Please take an opportunity to review our course calendar online as updates will be made if necessary. As well, please do not hesitate to contact our guidance department at WHSS if you have any questions or require any assistance in completing your child’s course selection sheet. For parents of current grade eight students, grade eight teachers can also be a very valuable resource in assisting you and your child when deciding upon the appropriate level, academic, applied, or locally developed to help ensure your child's success in high school. The staff and I look forward to working together with our parents and students to ensure the success of each of our students.
