Wednesday, September 28, 2016     DAY 1

The Westside Reading Club will meet in the library seminar room at lunch today. New members are welcome.

Today there is a meeting for Environmental SHSM in room 300 at lunch. Tomorrow there is a meeting for Transportation SHSM.

The Gender and Sexuality alliance will meet in the theatre at lunch today. All are welcome.

Laurier University information session today at 1:35 in the cosmo room which is 122.

Reminder to last year’s Washington trippers...your deposit for Boston is due tomorrow to Ms. Kurtz.

Please excuse the senior boys soccer team at 1:50pm today for their home game against Norwell.

The junior boys’ basketball team started their season off with a win against Erin. Through 5 sets the Westside boys showed grit and determination to rally for the W. Solid work, boys!

The Junior girls basketball team won their home game last night against Erin 20-11. A big congratulations to our MVP Jamie Wright. The senior girls basketball team tried their best against Erin, with only 5 seniors on the team playing by the 4th quarter. Go Thunder!

Tuesday, September 27, 2016     DAY 1     'LITERACY TEST DAY'

Improv is today at lunch - all are welcome! Come on down to the theatre for some drama fun!

A huge congratulations to the junior girls basketball team for their first win of the season against Centre Dufferin, 34 to 12! Great way to start the season girls, GO THUNDER!

The Westside Reading Club will meet in the library seminar room tomorrow at lunch.

Today there is a SHSM Health and Wellness Meeting at lunch in room 300. Tomorrow is the meeting for Environmental SHSM.

Trent University information session at 9am in the fishbowl.

Reminder to last years Washington Trippers...you only have until Thursday to bring your deposit for Boston to Ms Kurtz!!

 Monday, September 26, 2016    DAY 1

The Annual Candy Cane Fair at Headwaters Health Care Centre is looking for volunteers. The event takes place on Saturday, November 26th from 9:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. For more information please go to Student Services.

The Junior Boys’ Soccer team will have their scheduled practice today, but will meet first for a brief meeting in room 210.

Sewing club is back! Today after school, room 124. No experience is necessary, we’ll teach you how. See you there!

A representative from Brescia University is visiting today. Please go to the fishbowl after the announcements.

Tomorrow will be a DAY 1 due to the practice literacy test happening during Block A. This means there will be THREE Day ones in a row. Thursday will be a DAY 2 and then next week the schedule will be back to normal.

Parking passes are now ready for pick up in the office. Please come by on your spare or at lunch to check on your application.

Did you know that last year Westside became a bronze level Eco School? Do you love the environment as much as Ms. Montgomery does? Do you want to help Westside become a SILVER level EcoSchool? Friday September 23, 2016     DAY 2

Please excuse the Sr. Boys Soccer team at 1:15 today for their game against ODSS.

Students interested in Hospitality SHSM there is an information meeting today in room 300. Monday there will be a meeting for Arts and Culture.

Girls basketball there will be a meeting outside of the gym at lunch to pay your deposit and pick up your uniforms! There will be a practice Monday morning at 7am.

Congratulations to the Westside golf team for an impressive performance at the district championship. In particular, Madison Ouellette and Gavin Nix who posted low scores for the team and are moving on to CWOSSA.

Huron University visit today at 1:35 in room 122.

Members of the Sr Boys soccer team need to find Mr. Pinizzotto or Mrs Kleist today in regards to the game tomorrow.

Only one week until the Terry fox run! Don't forget to pick up your pledge forms from the phys ed teachers or the main office!
