It was nice to see so many people at Open House.  Unlike last year, when everyone and everything was new, it was nice to see familiar faces and share stories about the summer.  Teachers appreciated having the chance to meet the families of their students.   

Every week is busy and filled with activity.  During the past few days we had our first fire drill of the year (only five more to go), Open House and we had a wonderful Terry Fox Walk which raised over two-thousand dollars for cancer research.  That is absolutely amazing!  Thank you so much for your support. 

Next week, our intermediate students are learning to Zumba, School Council meets (please join us) and there is a Provincial Election.

We are participating in the Zehrs Tapes program to help raise funds for outdoor recess equipment.

Last year we raised over $500!  All that is required of you is to save your Zehrs receipts and send them into the school office.

We are now into our seventh day of school and it seems as though we never left!  Students are settled into their rooms (any changes were made yesterday) and staff feel as though they know their students well.   Thanks to all of you for your help in returning forms (please do so if you haven't), using the drop-off area (instead of the parking lot) and for all of the other things you do every day to help make Westminster a great place to be.

Just a reminder that our fall Open House will take place on Thursday September 29th.  We hope you can drop by to say hello and visit your child's classroom.  The school will open at 6:00 and we hope to wrap up by 7:30 pm.

The Terry Fox Run is coming up (you will get information).  Every class will walk that day.  Donations (Toonies for Terry) are welcome, but certainly not mandatory.
