Dieppe

Written by Hugh Brewster

Scholastic Canada Ltd.

On August 19, 1942, Canadian troops raided the beaches at Dieppe. Due to repeated changes in the plan, and reliance on darkness and surprise, neither of which were available in the end, the raid on Dieppe will be remembered as a disaster that killed almost one thousand Canadians, injured over 500 and sent almost two thousand to prisoner of war camps.
