Ponsonby continues to be a very busy place! The students and staff are deep into the curriculum and the extra-curricular activities are numerous. As a staff, we are continuing to focus on the problem-solving model for teaching mathematics. The students are enjoying the real-world connections and working together to solve problems using efficient Math strategies. Continue to ask math related questions at home. These questions can be related to anything...cooking, money, shopping, etc.
It is hard to believe that term 1 is done and next week, report cards will be sent home. This is a great time to talk to your children and reflect on the year to date. Discuss what is going well, areas for growth, and next steps. Tell them how proud you are and set goals for term 2.
