Notice of the passing of an Education Development Charges by-law
TAKE NOTICE that the Upper Grand District School Board passed two Education Development Charges By-laws on the 17th day of August, 2009, under Section 257.54 of the Education Act. One Bylaw applies to the County of Wellington and the second By-law applies to the County of Dufferin.
AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or organization may appeal either or both By-laws to the Ontario Municipal Board under Section 257.65 of the Act by filing with the Secretary of the Upper Grand District School Board on or before the 28th day of September, 2009, a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the By-law and the reasons supporting the objection.
The By-laws come into force on August 24, 2009. The Education Development Charges imposed by the By-laws are as follows:
For the County of Wellington: $842 per dwelling unit in regard to residential development
For the County of Dufferin: $391 per dwelling unit in regard to residential development
The education development charges are imposed on all development of lands in the County of Wellington and the County of Dufferin. Accordingly, a key map showing the location of the lands subject to the By-law is not provided as part of this notice.
Copies of the complete By-laws are available for examination in the offices of the Board located at 500 Victoria Road North, Guelph and 40 Amelia Street, Orangeville (during regular office hours) or on the board’s website at www.ugdsb.on.ca.
Notice of a proposed By-law amending the Education Development Charge By-laws or the passage of such an amending By-law is not required to be given to any person or organization, other than to certain clerks of municipalities or secretaries of school boards, unless the person or organization gives the secretary of the Board a written request for notice of any amendments to the Education Development Charges By-laws and has provided a return address.
