New South Guelph JK-8 FI Centre Boundary Review

Board Decision

The boundaries for the schools involved in the New South Guelph JK-8 FI Centre Boundary Review were approved March 26, 2013.  The selected scenario – Scenario 2 – is presented (with maps) in Report #3.  Along with the JK-6 and 7/8 boundaries for the new school, there are changes to the FI boundaries of FA Hamilton PS, John McCrae PS and Paisley Road PS.

Summary of Changes 

The new boundaries for all four schools will take effect in September 2014.

All Paisley Road PS grade 4 to 6 FI students will attend John McCrae PS.

A Transition Area has been identified on the John McCrae PS JK-3 FI Boundary Map.  This area is being reassigned from Paisley Road PS to John McCrae PS. Transition Area students that attended Paisley Road PS for JK to Grade 2 in the 2013/14 school year may remain at Paisley Road PS until the end of Grade 3 or have the option of attending John McCrae PS. 

In the 2014/15 school year all Grade 8 FI students will be grandparented at John McCrae PS.

Transportation

Service de transport de Wellington‐Dufferin Student Transportation Services (STWDSTS) will be reviewing any safety issues and will determine transportation eligibility and recommended walking routes by January 2014. The www.findmyschool.ca website will be updated in March 2014 to include transportation eligibility information for the revised boundaries and recommended walking routes.
