The annual Palmerston Family Barbeque is fast approaching. Your school council has been preparing and has organized some interesting events for the evening. The festivities start at 5:30 p.m. We are very excited to have the Ontario Provincial Police Mounted Unit in attendance this year. The Minto Fire Department are returning and they will have the smoke house with them. The popular fish races will be back.  Gift baskets will be up to be won. Hockey cards will be on sale.  A GAMESTOP representative will be offering children chances to play a video game challenge. There will be a Silent Auction and Penny Table in the gym. Perennial plants will be on sale. Hopefully, you have pre-ordered for food and drinks. They were due on May 13. There will be a few extras that night which will be sold on a first come first served basis.

 We are still accepting donations from businesses and parents for our Penny Table. We are also accepting perennials. All proceeds are used by our School Council to enhance the learning at Palmerston PS.

 

 

Mrs. Barber's students have been working hard preparing their projects for the Science Fair. Projects will be on display during the day in our gym. All of our classes will be able to tour the gym to enjoy the Fair. Presenters will be there to answer any questions that may be asked. The Science Fair will open again at 6:30 p.m. so that parents who were unable to visit during the day can observe the amazing experiments and displays Mrs. Barber's students were able to come up with.

Back by popular demand. Mrs. Hope has put together a series of parenting workshops to help with a variety of issues that might affect your child's learning. The first session is Wednesday, May 18 starting at 7:00 p.m. in the school library. If you would like to be part of the sessions please give Mrs. Hope a call at the school.
