We are entering the home stretch of the 2012-2013 school year. The next two months will be very busy at Palmerston Public School. It is very important for all students to keep in mind that we need to focus on our learning for just eight more weeks.

April was an exciting month at Palmerston with students participating in Autism Awareness Day, Kindergarten Fairy Tale Day, tree planting, basketball, the All-Science Challenge, dodgeball in intramurals and much more. May will be exciting with a spirit day, author visit, track and field, assemblies, an intermediate Skills competition, Science Fair, Spring pictures, Primary Oral Communication, bus patrol training, sunflower growing, Earthkeepers, intermediate basketball tournament and our grade 3 and 6 students writing EQAO. Students are actively training for track and field and eagerly awaiting school trips.

If you have any questions or concerns about our school, please feel free to contact Mrs. Kuchma or me directly at the school.

Have a great month of May!
Wilma Shannon

February 2013 News

February is here and with it lots of snow. February is also report card time. Teachers have been busy writing report cards. Report cards go home on February 7th.

Where there is snow you have snowballs, snow forts, and frigid temperatures. Throwing snowballs is not allowed at school because of the potential safety risk. We remind students every day that snow doesn’t belong to any one person. We ask students to respect other people’s forts and snowmen. We also remind them to keep their hands to themselves and not to play rough. Consequences range from missed recess times all the way to school suspensions.

We are sorry to say Ms Ashley Campbell will be leaving Palmerston PS. She has accepted a new position at Maryborough PS and we all wish her the best. We are in the process of hiring a new Core French teacher who will teach Grades 4 to 8 until Mme Butchart returns to her teaching position at Palmerston PS.

We are looking forward to another great month at Palmerston PS.
