Upper Grand asking for parents’ input on French instruction

The Upper Grand District School Board is inviting parents and guardians to share their thoughts on French Language instruction within UGDSB schools. From Friday Oct. 2 until Oct. 30, 2015, parents and guardians will have the opportunity to complete a short, confidential survey. Click here to take the survey.

Late Bus Program


NDSS is proud to offer our students a late bus program.  Norwell students are encouraged to “get involved” and stay at school until 4:30 on the dates below to enjoy, engage and pursue your interests.

Buses will leave Norwell DSS at 4:30 and drop off at the following locations:

Maryborough P.S. at: 4:40pm

Drayton Heights P.S at: 4:50pm

Harriston Old Town Hall (back of building) 4:40pm

Clifford United Church: 4:50pm

October Dates: Oct. 14th, Oct. 21st, Oct. 26.

October extracurricular activities:

Java Junction Open with Entertainment

Tech Department – Extra help

Library Homework help (Math, Science, English)

Running club – meet in main hall

Improvisation Club – stage

Fitness Centre Program – full supervision

Positive Change (an interdenominational Faith club) room: 113

Norwell Students are proud to have participated in the annual Terry Fox Run/ Walk on September 30, 2015.  Thank you to all staff and students who helped raise money for Cancer Research.

Host Families Needed!

Host Families Needed for Visiting Costa Rican Students 

Would your family like to host a Costa Rican student from Nov. 23rd to Dec. 5th 2015?  

Norwell will be hosting a group of 35 Costa Rican students from Nov. 23-Dec.5th.  As a host family, you will welcome a visiting student into your home and share with them a memorable Canadian experience. The Costa Rican students will live with your family and attended school each day with their Norwell students hosts. While at Norwell the students will join their host partner's classes as well as participate in local activities such as playing hockey, curling, shedding, and going to the Norgan theatre. 


The school in Costa Rica, West College, in once again coming to Norwell this year from Nov. 23rd until December 5th. Three years ago this visit was very well received from staff and students at Norwell. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about another country and foster new friendships.
