GUELPH, Ontario – The Upper Grand District School Board is celebrating the official opening of École Guelph Lake Public School this May.
The school first opened its doors to students in September. The official opening ceremony will take place on May 1 to coincide with the kick off to Education Week 2017.
A ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m., with an open house and refreshments to follow. The Honourable Liz Sandals, President of the Treasury Board and MPP for Guelph, will be in attendance, as well as UGDSB school board trustees.
The school opened for the 2016-17 as JK-4 French Immersion, with additional grades to be added in subsequent years, eventually becoming a JK-8 school. The school features a large library resource centre as well as a net metering solar system. Staff and students are proud to be known as the Guelph Lake Voyageurs.
