L'école John McCrae School is a JK to Grade 6 French Immersion Centre for students in South Guelph. The 2010-2011 school year will be the second year in our new building.
Since its opening in 1952, our school is proud to be named for Colonel John McCrae, physician, soldier and renowned poet. It is his sensitive reflection on war and peace, the poem In Flanders Fields (Aux champs d'honneur) which has brought him national and international fame.
John McCrae was born and lived in our community. His historical homesite is one block away from the the original school site at 189 Water Street. This address is also the site for our new school building which is currently under construction. We hope to move back to a beautiful new school for September 2009.
