The Furry Faces of Movember!

 Permanent link

Have you noticed that our male teachers are a little furrier around the face these days? That's because they are proudly representing Jean Little P.S. in this year's Movember campaign, aimed at raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer. The men and women of Jean Little P.S. are doing what they can to support this important cause. If you'd like to donate to the Movember campaign in honour of our team, here's how you do it:

Go to http://ca.movember.com/

Click on "donate" it is one of the top tabs

Click the "TO A TEAM" option

Type "Jean Little Men" in the find team box

Select "DONATE TO TEAM"

Then enter information for making a donation

Thanks!

As the school "webmaster", I wanted to send out a big thank you to all those parents who are using our website and class blogs, and to those who let us know when something isn't working as it should. For some reason, we have had more than the usual little glitches this year, and we can't always tell from here when something isn't working out in the world beyond our school network. While it is mostly my name attached to postings here, this website is very much a collaborative endeavour between me, staff, students and parents - so thanks for being such constructive and proactive partners!

THE BOOK FAIR IS COMING! THE BOOK FAIR IS COMING!

The SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR will be at the school starting Wednesday, November 16. Preview days for classes will be Wed Nov 16th and Thurs Nov 17th. On Thursday night the Book Fair will be open for buying and browsing from 5 - 7:30 pm and on Friday November 17 from 8:30 - 12 noon. Feel free to come before or after your interviews. Students with money will be allowed to buy books on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday November 21 - 23 from 8:30 - 8:50 and during various times in the AM. Parents who wish to shop without your children can shop between 8:50 - 9:10. If you are thinking of buying a Christmas gift for your child's teacher or someone on staff at the school, you might want to think about donating a book through our Celebration Book Donation Club? Simply buy a book at the Fair and speak with the Celebration Book Club rep, who will make sure a special sticker is put into the front of the book with your child's name, the staff person's name and the reason for the donation!

If you would like to help out on Thursday night, please contact Ms. Stockton-Wigmore at (519) 837-9582.

Remembrance Day Service

 Permanent link
Our school community will come together Friday morning, November 11, for our Remembrance Day Service. We will gather in thpoppye gym just before 11:00 am for the service. Our choir will be performing, and we will feature a slideshow of work by our Grade 1-2 class. Parents are welcome to attend, but please note that our space is very limited (you may have to stand) - with our increased numbers, it is a challenge to fit everyone in the gym. Thanks for your understanding.
