Some of you may be wondering where the new Shelburne school name came from. Glenbrook Elementary School comes from a combination of two large subdivisions that are nearby. One sub-division is called Greenbrook and another called Fiddler’s Glen, hence the Glenbrook name. Mr. Thompson (the principal at Glenbrook) plans to visit students at the school in the next several weeks to share some photos of the new school and talk with students who will be attending the new school in September. For students feeling anxious about the change of schools, please help to reassure children that they will be seeing lots of familiar faces at Glenbrook. Half of our student population will be moving to Glenbrook, along with many of our teaching staff. The new-ness (a made up word) will be felt together and if you haven’t been by the school, a visit with your children to see the progress might also be helpful. New look for Hyland Heights Elementary School

 Permanent link

Welcome to the new Hyland Heights website! We have developed a look to better reflect the unique character of our school, its students and staff. With a fresh, modern, and bright new look, we want this website to be a place for students, parents, and teachers to come to for resources and information regarding the Board and Hyland Heights.

The new site is built for an intuitive user experience to help one find what they're looking for quickly and efficiently. Parents and Students have sections unique to their own needs, containing relevant and current resources to help their experience in school or for their child.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed designing and developing it!

The spring sunshine has arrived and regardless of the snow hanging around a bit longer than expected, it’s a time for renewal and rejuvenation. We can almost see the spring bulbs starting to poke their heads up to show us their beauty! In addition to Spring arriving, there are a number of exciting things happenings at HHES that students can look forward to participating in. This month we are holding a school wide poetry competition. Students are encouraged to write a poem related to nature, earth day, or social justice. See further details below and be sure to encourage your child to participate. The top poems will be selected by grade and shared during our month end assembly on May 1st.
