H1N1 vaccine available to all who want it

Effective, November 17, 2009, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is making the H1N1 vaccine available to all local residents who want it.

Elementary School Students
Information letters and consent forms have been sent home to all elementary school students. Please complete the consent form and bring to the clinic or send with your child if he/she is going with another adult. Copies of the consent form and information letter with clinic schedule can be downloaded.

Secondary School Students
Secondary school clinics are scheduled for the week of November 23. Copies of the consent form and information letter can be downloaded. View the secondary school clinic schedule.

Community Flu Clinic Schedule for November 16 - November 27

Flu shots are free. Please bring your Ontario health card and driver's licence. No appointment needed.

Clinic schedule may change depending on vaccine availability. Please review schedule on a regular basis. For more information call our Flu Hotline at 1-800-265-7293 ext. 4161

Public Health has distributed H1N1 vaccine to physicians who placed their orders. Check with your doctor or community health clinic.

H1N1 is in our community. It is occurring more frequently in people 0 to 18 years of age. Although most people recover at home, some children and adults get very ill and require hospitalization and intensive care. Whether or not there are confirmed cases of H1N1 at school, it’s important that you assume H1N1 flu is in all schools and take steps to protect your family from becoming ill. "Get the Facts on Flu: Seasonal and H1N1" is a free presentation to be offered by Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health at various locations in Wellington Dufferin counties, from October 7 to November 4. All sessions 7 to 8 p.m., with free admission and no registration required.

Pandemic Response Plan for H1N1

(September 8, 2009) -- The Upper Grand District School Board has released a Pandemic Response Plan for (H1N1) 2009 Influenza Virus. This new plan is based on the board's previous Pandemic Response Plan, but has been rewritten to provide a targeted response to H1N1 flu strains.
