Parents and staff are invited to attend the UGDSB Parent Involvement Committee’s spring event: Engaging Families for Student Achievement.

The event will include:

  • Keynote address by Nancy Angevine-Sands, OCT
  • Practical activities for your team to work together and sharing opportunities with other councils
  • Dinner and informal discussion/networking
  • Babysitting/transportation compensation, if required

April 28National Day of Mourning
Time: All Day

The National Day of Mourning is marked to remember the thousands of workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness as a result of work-related incidents in Canada. The day also honours the many families and friends who have been affected by these tragedies.

Flags in the UGDSB will fly at half mast on the National Day of Mourning.

May 1 to 5, 2017, is Education Week in Ontario. Schools across the UGDSB celebrate Education Week through events during the week and in the month leading up to it. This year’s theme is: “Open Doors to Learning/Ouvrons les portes à l’apprentissage.”

Child and Youth Mental Health and Well-being Week is the first week of May. It is about promoting mental wellness, increasing awareness of the child and youth mental health, decreasing stigma and understanding that support is available. Let’s improve everyone’s mental health and well- being! The theme for Child and Youth Mental Health and Well-being at the UGDSB is: Have a SUPER Week!

Each day of the week focuses on a different aspect of mental health and well-being. UGDSB schools are provided with resources and activities related to each day’s theme.
