A lockdown is initiated when it appears that there is a safety threat inside the building.
During a lockdown (and drill), students, along with their teacher, will sit in a designated spot in their class. The classroom doors are locked, the windows are covered, and the lights in the class are turned off. Teachers will talk to their students about the drill, and administration will remind students that this is just something we have to practice.
We will be conducting a lockdown drill Thursday, October 23rd. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at the school.
We have numerous students in our building that have severe allergies to particular food products. As such, parents must provide the teacher with a list of ingredients in the event that food is brought to the school for other students (this does not include lunch items for your own children). This requirement is outlined in Sabrina's Law: This law requires that every school board in Ontario establish and maintain an anaphylaxis policy. Teachers have been made aware of this requirement.
If you have any questions, please contact the school.
