Parents are reminded that dogs should not be on school property while our students are at school. We have a number of children that are afraid of dogs. We also have seen dogs that have behaved aggressively toward each other while the owners are waiting for their children to be dismissed for the day. Animals can behave in an unpredictable manner, especially when they are in an unfamiliar environment. The safety of our students is always our primary concern. We appreciate your immediate attention to this matter.
A lockdown is initiated when it appears that there is a safety threat inside the building.
During a lockdown (and drill), students, along with their teacher, will sit in a designated spot in their class. The classroom doors are locked, the windows are covered, and the lights in the class are turned off. Teachers will talk to their students about the drill, and administration will remind students that this is just something we have to practice.
We will be conducting a lockdown drill Thursday, October 23rd. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at the school.
