This employment Ontario program is funded by the government of Ontario.
An overview of the program
At the Skills Upgrading Program our goal is to help learners successfully transition to any of the following options: employment, post-secondary education, apprenticeship programs, secondary high school credit.
As well, we assist learners with independence goals such as learning basic computer skills or furthering essential skills for work.
Our program runs from the beginning of September until the end of June. We have day and evening classes available in all our locations with a flexible schedule to meet the individual's needs. A commitment of 10hrs per week combined between in class and at home work is needed to see progress. The Skills Upgrading Program is an Employment Ontario program funded through the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities.
Learners must be 19 years of age and if English is a second language, they must have a Canadian Language Benchmark of CLB 6 to be eligible to attend the program.
The program is FREE. There is no cost for the students in this program. The funding is provided by Employment Ontario through the government of Ontario. For those who are eligible, we can assist with the costs of transportation and daycare.
We have classes available in Guelph, Fergus, Drayton, Harriston, Mount Forest,
Shelburne and Orangeville.
