Well spring has arrived and we are almost at the midpoint in our semester.
Midterm report cards will be going home Friday, April 27. These are a good indication of whether or not a student is on track to receive their credit. It is not too late to turn things around if a student is having difficulty in a course. If you are concerned about your student's progress, please don't hesitate to contact his/her teacher to develop a plan together. Please contact the school at 519-925-3834.
Just a reminder that there is assistance for all students at lunch for math, science and writing. Extra help is available for students every day from 12:00 to 12:25 pm in Cyberplace (Rm 75 on Day 4), Science help in Rm 88 on days 2 and 4, and Math help in Rm 26. The library is also open all of lunch for students who need to use a computer or need a space to do work. Help is available from staff in the library if students need assistance with computers or finding books or reference materials. The library is open from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm every day.
Once again this year, math students in Grades 7 to 10 will have access to live, interactive, online math help through the expansion of a pilot project funded by the Ministry of Education.
Homework Help is free, real-time math tutoring by certified Ontario teachers. A teacher from within the Board is available to walk through a question or students can listen in as a teacher explains a problem to another student. There are also archived questions that students can access.
The best thing a student can do to be successful is to be in-class everyday and to connect with their teacher when they are having difficulty.
