French in Mrs. Backer's Class

Grade 7s are working on their final task for our À Votre Santé unit. The last opportunity to work on it in class will be Monday, May 7th. Students must hand in their final product on Tuesday, May 8th.

Grade 6s have been working on an information poster for an incident/crime of their choice. Their good copy is due at the beginning of class on Friday.

The grade 6 students will have a test on regular er, re and ir verbs.

The grade 7 students will have a test on sentences with 2 verbs. There is a focus on the following irregular verbs: vouloir, pouvoir, devoir and aller.

Grade 6s:

Students are to finish 6 more questions for Tuesday. That makes for a grand total of 22 questions completed.

Grade 7s:

Students are to finish 7 more questions for Tuesday. That makes for a grand total of 25 questions completed.

Students have been working on the comprehension questions titled "Les Questions Totales". They are to have 18 completed for Monday.

Students are working on completing detailed responses to the play Les animaux du bayou. They should have 16 questions completed for Wednesday.

The grade 7s will have a test on er, re and ir verbs on Monday, November 21. They need to know the definitions of a variety of verbs, how to conjugate all three types and take that knowledge and apply it in written situations. Students will also need to explain in French how to conjugate a verb. Lastly, there will be a listening test that requires students to identify verbs in oral text.
