We have certainly had some inconsistent weather in April, hopefully warmer temperatures and sunny days are here to stay.

We are gearing up for EQAO for our grade 3 and grade 6 students at the end of the month. All teachers haveworked hard to prepare their students and encourage them to do their best.

Please remember to join us in the gym for the Volunteer Breakfast on May 17th at 8:00 am. We are hoping with the change in time to see more of our great volunteers. Your dedication and commitment continues to benefit your child’s experiences and successes at school.

Every two years our school participates in a climate survey to understand about the climate in our school.Questions about bullying such as: have you ever been bullied? Where does it happen? How often are students bullied etc. There is an opportunity for you to also get involved and answer the survey. Students in grades 4-8 will complete a survey .If you are interested in completing the survey please follow this link:

We hope everyone enjoyed a great March Break.
It is hard to believe how quickly the school year is flying by. We are well into the third and final term of the year. This is a great opportunity to set goals with your child for a successful third term.

I continue to be amazed at the energy and enthusiasm of our staff, students and parent community. So many activities have been successfully completed and many more are still planned. The third term will be filled with lots of excitement, activities and academic successes!

Books 2Thank you to the school council for providing us with an amazing kick-off for the Read-A-Thon. We had great presenters and a lot of community members in reading with our classes. The school was certainly a ‘buzz’ of activity.
Report cards have recently been sent home. The teachers have worked very hard on trying to give you a clear representation of your child accomplishments. Please review the report with your child and identify his/her strengths and goals to achieve success for the last term of the year. If you have concerns please don’t hesitate to call your child’s teacher.

3 students at a deskWe are looking forward to the Read-A-Thon that School Council has spearheaded with the kick-off on January 31st. Organizers have done an incredible amount of work lining up authors, entertainers and community members and in obtaining items for prizes. It should be a very exciting day! boy in winterIt was great to see so many parents who took the time to come in and talk to the teachers about their child’s progress. The new progress reports are an excellent opportunity to set goals for your child for the upcoming report card in February.

As the weather quickly changes, and we get excited about the onset of winter activities, please remind your child about the importance of safety while playing, walking and running in slippery wet and snowy conditions.
