In a statement released last night, the Director of Education for the Upper Grand District School Board announced that:
" If bus transportation is cancelled in any sector of our jurisdiction, the Director of Education will postpone the test and in consultation with the Education Equality and Accountability Office reschedule the test for a later date."
]]>"All students are expected to write the OSSLT on April 11th. In the event that a no bus day is called, all walking or non-bused students are to write the test as scheduled. Any bused students who can get here safely will also be expected to write the test. This is a provincial test and a graduation requirement. Should bused students not be able to make it to school, contact the school for information. We will seek advice from EQAO as to how to follow up for the missed test as safety is first"

The site will be open on Monday March 18 and remain open until Wednesday March 27, 2013 at 3 p.m. No bookings will be made after the site closes until interviews begin at the school.
If a teacher you wish to see is completely booked, you can make alternative arrangements when you are in the school for your scheduled teacher interviews.
Student volunteers will have teacher’s schedules available during the interview times, March 27 at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
If there are any open timeslots available, you can book interviews during these times.
We recommend that you do not wait until the last minute to book appointments – teacher’s schedules will fill up quickly.

Participants in our rugby program will be under the supervision of Mr. G. Robinson, Mr. A. Teeter, and Mr. D. Devine and will see England and Wales, where they will visit the sights of London, Bath, and Cardiff. They will also be hosted by a number of schools in the UK and participate in 3 rugby matches.
EDHS students will also be travelling to Paris where they will see sights like the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, Versailles and the Eiffel Tower.
Staff leading the trip to the Paris destination are Mr. and Mrs. Filion, Mr. and Mrs. Sherry, Ms. Buck.

We are aware that with the increase in our capacity, there will be an increase in the number of devices and the use of the internet in the school. Students are reminded that they are expected to use their devices appropriately and when in class, only with teacher permission. Please refer to the "Use of Electronic Devices" and the "Computer Policy" pages of the student agenda for clarification on use.
Additionally, since we expect an increase in the number of devices, students are reminded that the security of their devices is extremely important. Personal devices should never be left unattended! It is recommended that when devices are not in use, like during a physical education class, that they be safely secured in lockers. Students are responsible for the appropriate use and security of their own personal devices.

]]>Our school has a long history of supporting the Terry Fox Run/Walk. Thousands of dollars have been raised in support. This year our Terry Fox Run/Walk has been scheduled for Friday September 21, 2012. Our hope is that we can have the entire student body and the entire staff participate in the run/walk. The effort this year is especially important as one of our staff members battles the disease.

This year we have changed the commencement date to October to try to connect our celebration with the Thanksgiving weekend and the Erin Fall Fair. Our hope is that we will save families the expense of having their son or daughter return home for two weekends, the Thanksgiving weekend and the weekend when our Commencement has been scheduled in the past (November).
Invitations will be arriving in the mail for graduates in the class of 2012.
We look forward to the celebration and look forward to catching up with our graduates that have gone on to post-secondary education and the world of work!

The evening will begin with a brief introduction by administration, and then parents will be able to travel to each of their child's classes to meet the teacher and find out about the nature of the courses that their son or daughter will be taking this semester. Parents and guardians will be asked to follow their child's timetable, and rotate through classes as if it were an abreviated day at schools...bells and all!
