Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2013!

I hope everyone had a restful holiday with some great family time. I didn’t go too far away but managed to fit in a great number of winter activities with my wife and children.

We are right back into the swing of things and well into January already. Students will be working on a variety of culminating activities and assessments as teachers are finalizing Term 1 Report Cards.

With January weather, we need to review a number of safety issues over and above our typical concerns. We want our students to continue to be as safe as possible. Please go over the list on the next few pages and share it with your children.

Friday, December 21st will be Mrs. Moore’s last day at Victoria Cross Public School. On Saturday, December 22nd she will begin a well-deserved retirement. Mrs. Moore has spent the last four and a half years at Victoria Cross as Vice Principal, kindergarten teacher, planning teacher, and resource teacher. We wish her all the best as she settles in with her family at the cottage. After selling their house at the end of the summer, the Moores have been transitioning to their new “home”…. the cottage! We thank Mrs. Moore for all of her hard work at Victoria Cross. We will miss her!

Mr. Adam Bodiam will be joining us in January as the new Vice Principal. Mr. Bodiam has spent time at Minto Clifford, as well as Paisley Road School, as the Vice Principal. We welcome him to Victoria Cross.
