Thanks to everyone who was able to see, sign and return science and math tests last night.  I made an error on adding up the math test... it was actually out of 50 instead of 60.  Students had their marks readjusted as necessary and in some cases their grades went up.

We will have our place value unit test next week.  Check agendas for the exact date....once students have demonstrated their understanding of decimals, they will be ready for the test.

We will be having a small Hallowe'en celebration on Friday afternoon.  If you wish, you may send in nut-free snacks for your child to share with classmates.  Thanks in advance if you are able to contribute.

Don't forget the school clothing orders on sale until November 2nd.  It is a good way for students to have the appropriate clothing for phys. ed. class.

Enjoy your Hallowe'en!!

Reminder.....Mon. Nov. 1st is a P.A. day.

A final reminder of the science unit test coming up tomorrow.  Students should be finished, or almost finished, their proof of study notes with the 4 subtopics from the unit.

These subtopics are: Our Solar System, Planets, The Moon and Sun, Stars and Constellations.  Students were to fill in the important infiormation under each subtopic from

their notes.  I will also be collecting their notebooks tomorrow to mark them....title page, notes and proof of study should all be complete.

We will begin our Social Studies unit on Canada's First Nations next week.   There will be an at home project assigned during this unit....more details to follow in coming weeks.

In math, we will also begin work on decimals.  Look for students to bring home their math quiz and science test for parent signatures in the next few days.

Bus helpers will travel to Orangeville Fairgrounds for their safety training on Monday morning.  Thanks for getting the permission forms back promptly.

Thanks for continuing to encourage your child to use their agenda to stay on top of their school work and to keep you informed of class expectations.

Students are currently working on their group planet projects and should be ready to start presenting to the class by the middle of next week.  Thanks so much to those of you who provided extra materials at your child's request....they are very excited to prepare their multi-media projects!

We are wrapping up our science unit on space and our unit test will be next Friday, Oct. 22nd.  Students will need to have their notebooks complete as well as a completed "proof of study" that I will begin to prepare with them in class early next week. This proof of study will help them to be prepared for the test.

Students who are bus helpers will attend a safety training session on Monday, Oct. 25th at the Orangeville Fairgrounds in the morning.  Please return the permission forms when they arrive in the backpacks.

Have a great weekend!
