Tomorrow students have a geography quiz in Mr. Panagiotou's class- students have been reminded and were asked to write in their agendas. Students are also working on a French project and should spend some time each night working on that.  In my class, students should be working on their Red Maple Novel Studies, as well as a couple of assignments in their Olympic Scrapbooks.  A number of students have not been writing homework in their agenda -typically those students are not completing homework either.  Please speak with your son/daughter and ask them what they have going on.  Since you're reading this-it should help to know what's going on!  Well done!

Have a great night!

Hello all! Just a quick note about speeches!  Students were amazing today- so many great topics that were well organized and well connected.  Tomorrow students have a math unit test as well as a french test.  Please make sure students are taking the time to work on that tonight-preferably before the Canada Russia game.

Have a great night!

Hello all,  looking forward to a great week.  Congratulations goes out to our wonderfull speech competitors.  We had one student moving on to the regional speak-offs, held at the Belwood legion.  Way to go!  As for the rest of the class, Friday will be the start of our speech presentations.  Students should have completed their speeches and memorized at least a portion of it.

Tomorrow, as you may know, we have our Olympic day where a number of olympic style events are going to be held.  Very exciting- the kids are really into the Olympic spirit.

For homework, students should have their French assignments done and handed in for Wednesday morning-these would be the students who did not hand them in today... Students also have 2 language assignments due for Thursday as well.  It would make sense for them to start tonight as it is a bit of work.  No math tonight but students will see some Thursday afternoon.

Have a great evening!

Hello all.  I wish you all a great family day Monday.  Please go and do something together- it's a great way to reconnect with each other.  Also, enjoy some of the olympics!  They may not be back in Canada for a long while!  Also, a reminder that speeches are in the gym on Tuesday and Wednesday is our Olympic Day!  Speeches in our class are on Thursday for all non-gym speaking students.

See you next week!  GO CANADA GO!

Hello all!

Thanks for the overwhelming response to our KD lunch.  After one monster pot and 2 sizeable casserole dishes, many tummies were full.  Man, can these kids eat!  Well done, and thank you for your kind donations.  Tomorrow is our ski day and all students follow the same routine as past ski trips.  Please ensure that your child is driven to and from school if they have ski equipment.  We should be sliding in at approximately 5:00pm.  I would appreciate if you were there at that time to pick up your son or daughter- I realize some parents have conflicts, but I absolutely have to leave shortly after 5:00pm tomorrow night. I appreciate the help.

Just a couple of reminders that Monday is Family day-get out there and have some fun with the kids.  It looks like there will be lots to do around Orangeville, Toronto or wherever.  On Friday of this week, students in J/I have a dance and it is also red, white and pink day in celebration of Valentine's Day and the start of the olympics.  Students who where these colours get in for $1.

A final reminder as well for all grade 7 students that the Red Cross will be putting on the, " It's not your fault" in service.  This will be from 11:30am to 12:50pm.  Unfortunately, notes did not go home yet but they will tomorrow.

Have a great night and let's get ready for the Olympics!

Hello all!  A quick reminder that our Kraft Dinner Lunch will be held tomorrow!  Please have your child bring in a plastic plate and utensils of some kind to eat with.  Also, please include a plastic bag they can throw their dirty plates into.  They can stuff it in their back pack and not worry about a mess. Tonight students have some history reading to do as they have a number of pages to read.  They need to have chapter 6 by Monday.  Also, students have some revising and editing to do as well as work on their French Project.  Most students are caught up in math but should have chapter 7.4 and 13.4 in grade 7 and 8 respectively.

Please don't forget to send in a donation for our family who's house burned down!  $3 gets a nice warm? plate of Kraft dinner!  YUMMMMMY!!!!!!!

Have a great night!

Hello again,

Tonight, students have French homework, I believe the students said four pages or so.  Students should also be working on their speeches as well as math.  Grade 7's should be completing 7.2 and grade 8's should be finishing 13.3 in the text.

Also a reminder that we are not skiing tomorrow, our last day is Thursday of next week.  Also, Friday is Pajama day, please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.  Also, it would be great to get some school spirit and get everyone involved.

Have a great night!

Happy February Everyone!

Just a quick note and reminder about jackets and appropriate outer wear.  We are noticing a steady rise in those students not properly dressed for the weather outside. It's cold, some days worse than others and frost bite may be a concern.  Likewise, although it may be coincidence, 6 students were away today ill.

Students have math homework tonight-grade 8 to the end of chapter 13.2. and grade sevens have to finish chapter 7.1 and begin 7.2, 1-8.  Most grade eights have not finiished chapter 13.2 and all grade sevens have not finished chapter 7.1.

Have a great night! 11 more sleeps till the Olympics!
