Good evening all.  Some wacky weather and another snow day has left us somewhat a stall in programming.  We are back on track a little today as kids have some homework in math and language.  We've started a new unit in reading, focusing on Evaluating text and we continue working on writing skills via exposition.  Tonight we have some math in chapter 6.3 and 6.4 q1-8.  Have a Good night!

Good afternoon all,

Just a reminder that tomorrow night is after school numeracy for those students involved.  As well, Westside has their open house- please make plans to be there.  It is a great way to prepare for the months ahead leading to grade nine.  I suggest all families make it if they can.  Tonight students have some homework in language; they have a new compare and contrast paragraph to write and they should be reading their red maple novels and start to research their speeches.  Have a great night!

Afternoon all.  Tonight students have some homework in math, language and history.  Students should be working on chapter 5.1 1-15.  Also, they have a short, diagnostic language assessment on their google drive account.  If students want to work on it with pen and paper, they are more than welcome.  Students also have a history quiz tomorrow and should be reading their red maples before they go to bed!  Lastly, I sent home a quick note to parents to let them know that WESTSIDE SECONDARY has an open house next Wednesday January 16th, 2013 at 7pm.  This open house is a great opportunity for parents and students to get a sense of what high school will be like.  I encourage all families to go to this. Please sign the slip of paper and have students return it as soon as possible. Thanks! Have a great night!

Good afternoon all.  I have a request for parents but please don't feel obligated.  Some kids asked if we could have a small potluck lunch tomorrow between nutrition breaks.  I've agreed on the basis that it doesn't create a burden for parents.  I realize it's last minute and I implore you to not make a big deal about it.  If you happen to be going out and would like to pick up something for your child, or, you have something at home, great.  Otherwise, don't worry about it, we'll all be fine and the kids will have a great day.

Many students still need to complete the homework from this week.  We are looking for their tribute speech and package from the latest reading.  Students who don't have it done will be working on it during the dance....

Have a great night!
